Acatenango Gesha comes from the volcanic highlands of Guatemala’s Acatenango Valley, a region defined by rich soils and steady altitude that consistently yields fragrant, expressive coffees. This lot, sourced through Sweet Maria’s/Coffee Shrub, is part of a long tradition of Guatemalan Gesha that highlights the variety’s floral and fruit-forward potential.

Roasted Pure Light, the cup leads with fresh pear sweetness, followed by a soft, ripe persimmon character that adds depth without weight. A delicate jasmine pearl floral note weaves through the finish, giving the coffee a lifted, tea-like quality that stays present but never overwhelming. The body is light and clear, allowing each element to come through distinctly.

This is a limited coffee—only a small amount was secured—and it’s best approached with a little attention. Brewed carefully, it shows why Gesha from this region continues to earn its reputation: aromatic, precise, and quietly memorable.
